Educational lessons in the wake of an (un)expected pandemic

COVID-19 was not the first global pandemic nor will it be the last. However, it was the first disease with potentially deadly consequences that has spread across the globe in the midst of a technological era, endowing the SARS-CoV-2 virus with unique casuistry considering the context in which it broke out. As has been repeated many times, the pandemic has disrupted the political-economic-social situation worldwide. Its consequences are still difficult to determine. Even so, we can deduce the scenario in which the pandemic took place and its most immediate repercussions. Three intertwined perspectives are analysed and discussed, namely politics, ethics and pedagogy. The virus has already left its mark on all three.
