Conceptual advances and content representation in information visualization

Main Article Content

Mario Pérez-Montoro

In a society characterized by data production that increases annually at an exponential rate, the discipline of information visualization has become one of the critical corpuses of knowledge to facilitate the survival of organizations and people in this new ecosystem. In this sense, the analysis, representation, and visual communication of information pursues the strategy of making digestible, managing, and communicating those volumes of data that structure and are involved in most of our main activities. With this work we want to identify some of the advances that have occurred in the field of information visualization throughout the years 2022 and 2023. On the one hand, we will select and analyze those visual proposals that have stood out for their importance and impact (in any of its dimensions) of the data they have represented. And, on the other hand, we will identify and address those pieces that have stood out for proposing conceptual advances and new forms of representation and visual communication of information.
