Abstract

An inherent characteristic of psychosocial and health care prof essions is that they are subjected to the tensions that emerge in the interaction between professionals and users. Some of the main sources of these tensions are analysed : contact with users' suffering, institutional pressure, the hopes and fears of professionals , contradictions between objectives of users and professionals, and those derived from the paterns of interpersonal relationships between both groups.
