Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) in the Training of Physical Activity and Sports Science Graduates: The Electronic Academic Journals (e-Journals)

Optimizing the teaching methodology at university is one of the main challenges in the guidelines of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA). The use of information and communication technologies (ICTs) makes possible the development of new methodological strategies in order to improve students’ independent learning. How are these changes affecting the education of the future Physical Activity and Sports Science’ graduates? How can we methodologically renew and update the Physical Activity and Sports Science degree? We present an innovative approach implemented in the National Institute of Physical Education of Catalonia–at Lleida Centre from the 2008-09 academic year. Using the Moodle virtual platform (coopera.inefc), we will show the development of basic skills in the following degree: Critical reflection and expression of experiences and others specificities of the future teachers of motor functions through the implementation of electronic academic journals (e-journals).
