Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to analyze the risks and benefits of regulatory decentralization of wages. The study examines the regulation of the minimum wage in Spain and explores regulatory alternatives within the Spanish constitutional framework, including public procurement, as a means to implement adequate minimum wages. Additionally, it reviews international studies analysing the benefits, such as the reduction of inequality, and the risks, such as business relocation, associated with establishing minimum wages at the regional or local level.
