During the first decade of the 20th century, Lluís Via, literary director of the catalanist weekly Joventut and responsible for the editorial section of this publication, became one of the main defenders of the Joan Maragall's poetry, speaking in its defence from the pages of the magazine and with the edition of Les Disperses (1904) in the Biblioteca Joventut, but also, following his mastery, he decided to cultivate the poetical genre in Catalan. This paper examines Via's first literary steps, the publication and reception of Maragall's poetry in the magazine and the genesis and the critical and epistolary comments of the first Via's compilations: Esteles (1907) and Del cor als llavis (1910).
