The following essay is a part of the lecture given upon reception of the author’s Honoris Causa degree from the University of Murcia (Spain) on 29 April 2016. This essay argues that history with a scientific focus should form a central part of compulsory and higher education. Education in Humanities should be considered a basic element of citizenship education and not its complement. The author argues that History as a school subject should be conceived more broadly than merely finite knowledge. It should instead be considered knowledge in construction, as in any other scientific area.
