Abstract

Materials presented: firstly, data from recearch (2004) in the basque country:in people's free time activities, there are hardly any differences between men and women. Secondly the magazines that adolescents read: the diferrences here are very pronounced and it would appear that we are looking at two different universes. Thirdly, a critical consideration of data obtained in research (2002) carried out on students in San Sebastian, which firmly corroborates the results of another study (2001) with estudents in Catalonia as a whole. Finally, three tables on boys and girls image of their differential qualities. Girls have much higher self-esteem than boys.
