Resum

En el camp acadèmic de l’educació social l'estudi del lleure educatiu ha adquirit una notable importància. Però l’aprofundiment acadèmic en aquest camp ha estat principalment anglosaxó i europeu. Des d'una perspectiva internacional i transcultural l'article pretén presentar les característiques dels estudis de lleure educatiu en el seu desenvolupament, subratllant les aportacions que hi ofereixen els àmbits acadèmics de Llatinoamèrica, Àfrica, l'Orient Mitjà i Àsia. En conjunt l'article vol oferir un mapa transcultural introductori al desenvolupament de l'estudi del lleure educatiu a partir de cultures i contextos acadèmics aliens als contextos culturals que fins ara n’han marcat la consolidació.
