Author Guidelines

The Ramon Llull Journal of Applied Ethics publishes both academic papers and book reviews.

All papers submitted have to be originals and not being presented simultaneously to another journal. It is assumed that all co-authors have given their consent for the publication of the contents of the paper and for the order of author names.

Authors have to include a disclosure statement ("Author Disclosure Statement") stating "No competing interests exist". Otherwise, authors have disclosed any commercial associations that might create a conflict of interest in connection with submitted papers.

Suggested length: as a general rule, articles should not exceed 10,000 words (including notes and the reference list). Book reviews should not exceed 2,500 words.

Formatting: We recommend using Times New Roman 12 font and a line spacing of 1.5 lines. Use footnotes (Times New Roman 10 font) rather than endnotes. For articles, there is not a mandatory number of sections, but reading must be facilitated by means of an appropriate structure consistent with addressed subject. Headings must be in bold and follow a systematic numbering order (1.; 1.1.; 1.1.1.; 2.; 2.1. ...). Papers must have an introduction proposing the research hypotheses and goals, and a final section of references, listing all works that has been used throughout the text. All references must follow APA style (7th edition). However, we encourage to include the complete name of authors (ie. “Arendt, Hannah” instead of “Arendt, H.”). Sections are not required for book reviews, but any citation must be properly referenced.

Papers may include graphics, figures and tables, that should be placed within the text exactly where they are to appear. Graphics, figures and tables should have a title, should be properly referenced and accessible formatting (size and quality; amount and organization of data; alternative text for people with visual impairment).

File format: Papers must be submitted in Microsoft Office Word format (*.docx).

Peer-review process is strictly anonymous. Please, make sure that your paper is anonymized before submission. Remove the information of author(s) and any identity-revealing references to your own published manuscripts.

Include a cover page (in a different file) listing the name, title, ORCID and affiliation of the author(s), as well as complete contact information (full address, telephone, and e-mail). Please, specify the corresponding author.

All papers must be in English.
