NEURO-ENHANCEMENT RESEARCH: A CASUISTIC APPROACH

In a recent article in this journal, Francisco Lara identified a set of three minimal requirements for moral enhancement. Taken together these requisites are intended as ethical guidelines for neuro-research. In the present article I suggest 1) a casuistic interpretation of Lara’s requisites to include 2) the principle of precaution as a moral and legal guideline for research on neuro-enhancement.
