Els líders polítics examinen el periodisme i els periodistes

This article analyzes the interventions which took place at the Blanquerna School of Communication Studies in a cicle of conferences on the relationship between politicians and journalists. It focuses on the five candidates in the Catalan elections of2003 from political parties with representation in the Parliament of Catalonia. This paper dissects each intervention and classifies the speakers' opinions in thematic blocks. One of its main conclusions is that there is a mutual mistrust between these two social figures. For the author, this mistrust, far from putting democracy at risk, is a sign of democratic good health in so far as it keeps the game of checks and balances alive.
