How to spread innovation in teaching? The case of service-learning in Catalonia

The objective of this text is to analyse the spread of service-learning (SL), an innovative educational practice which has reached Catalonia in recent years. The article begins by describing the principles which have guided its introduction. It continues by analysing the actions of agents, entities and people who have dedicated themselves to spreading and helping in the establishment of educational projects with service-learning, as well as the partnership relations and networks which have been created in these years, and ends by suggesting ways in hich service-learning can be extended in the future. Among others, there are considerations such as whether service-learning has been spread in the knowledge that it is more a discovery than an invention, and recognising the positive experiences already carried out using this educational practice in our country, linked to a certain idea of education and with the cooperation of all the agents involved in different educational areas and territories
