The European Higher Education Area creates unavoidable challenges that must be tackled in the mid- to long-term, as they involve a cultural change that is difficult for much of the academic community to incorporate immediately. The debate on the kinds of curriculums (their content and structure) and on the forms of organization and work that they should entail is not about the format or outward appearance that results from the way we organize tasks. Instead, it is about the meaning of the work, the mission of universities and our role as lecturers.
