Although Kantian texts on pedagogy are little known, they also clarify the structure and limits of autonomy, given that man is a being who needs to be educated to become free. This paper presents some of the central themes in Kantian pedagogy, which links moral autonomy with the requirement of rigor and discipline to build a critical citizenship. From the basic theses of civic republicanism, the claim of Kantianism is also a demand for moral responsibility in education.
