Cap a la contingència: com l’alfabetització en disseny afavoreix visions del món plurals i potencia el disseny transicional

La paraula alfabetització s’ha utilitzat per descriure una àmplia gamma de competències, entre les quals hi ha l’alfabetització en disseny, un terme que, malgrat la seva presència en el discurs del disseny, continua caracteritzant una certa confusió. En aquest article analitzem aquest camp teòric immensament discursiu per obtenir un coneixement més ampli i matisat del tema. En fer-ho, sostenim que aquestes postures divergents també són a causa de l’ambigüitat del terme disseny


Entenem el disseny com una desconstrucció i reconstrucció permanent del món, com una manera de crear-lo, tant físicament com conceptualment. Per tant, l’alfabetització en disseny es pot entendre com una manera de percebre indicis de disseny i els seus processos, de percebre el món com a contingent: un procés cognitiu circular de reconeixement que una cosa, si no totes, al nostre plurivers cultural està dissenyada, i entendre com s’ha dissenyat i que es pot convertir, potencialment, en objecte de disseny una vegada i una altra. Al nostre article destaquem la contingència del disseny i el nivell ètic que se’n pot derivar en ser conscients de la possibilitat d’un disseny diferent.  


Per últim, el nostre objectiu en aquest article és remarcar que l’alfabetització en disseny és una competència crucial per fomentar perspectives plurals i iniciar processos de transició, ja que ajuda a reconèixer la necessitat temporal, però no necessitat a llarg termini, de coses (cosa que inclou, especialment, la naturalesa transitòria de les creacions pròpies).

Dustin Jessen, Folkwang University of the Arts; Wuppertal Institute for Climate, Environment and Energy

Dustin Jessen va estudiar Disseny a la Folkwang University of the Arts d’Essen i a la Design Academy d’Eindhoven, i va obtenir el títol de màster al Royal College of Art (RCA) de Londres el 2014. Ha estat ajudant de recerca a la Folkwang University of the Arts des de 2014, on va començar el seu projecte de doctorat el 2018, amb el finançament i la tutela de la Comissió de Recursos de l’Agència Federal de Medi Ambient d’Alemanya. 

Sven Quadflieg, Hamm-Lippstadt University of Applied Sciences

Sven Quadflieg va estudiar Disseny a la Folkwang University of the Arts a Essen i a la Zurich University of the Arts, i va obtenir el seu doctorat a la HFBK de Hamburg. Després d’haver treballat com a docent a la Bergische Universität Wuppertal i la FH Münster, entre d’altres, actualment és professor a la Hamm-Lippstadt University of Applied Sciences des de 2017. És membre de la German Society for Design Theory and Research, la International Gender Design Network i la Design & Posthumanism Network.
