A decade after the passing away of Carlos Casares, the Barcelona publishing house Libros del Silencio has published the book Narrativa Breve Completa. It contains the disperse works of the author and the most successful short narrative repertoire; Vento Ferido and Os escuros soños de Clío, the first of these is a self-translation which was unpublished to date. This posthumous translation is the tip of the iceberg of a list of manuscripts and translations which make up the personal archive of the writer, under the custody of the Foundation that bears his name. A look at its collection, the contrasting of translations and originals, and the valuable testimony of his peers reveal an intense activity that confirms Carlos Casares not only as an author but also as a translation agent within the framework of minority languages literature. This article presents the keys to this argument and provides some news notes on his translational behavior. Moreover, a number of unpublished and disperse works that are not contained in the volume Libros del Silencio have been brought to light.
