Dated between 1954 and 1959 in Mexico, where he lived in exile, these letters from Nicolau d’Olwer to Rafael Tasis touch on a wide variety of topics, including a number of comments regarding Nicolau’s own and Tasis’ works. Close attention is paid to the final letter, in which Nicolau discusses Barcelona’s Floral Games in the early twentieth century and those held in Toulouse (France), in 1952, appreciates Gaziel’s memoirs, and examines the reasons why various Catalan writers (parti cularly Eugeni d’Ors) practiced Spanish-language journalism.
