Mediation in International Child Abduction Conference as part of the European Day of Mediation

To mark European Day of Mediation, the UOC’s Law and Political Science Department and its coordinator for the conference, Aura Esther Vilalta, organised a commemorative event about family mediation in the field of International Child Abduction. Carmen Varela, a founding member of Circulo Legal, a family mediator and a member of the Association of Professionals in International Child Abduction Spain ("ASIME"), gave a talk about the problems caused by the break up or separation of families whose members are from different countries and have underage children, a complex situation which legal practitioners know little about.
