Social representations on student’s initial teacher training about practice of teaching and learning social science

This article analyzes the perceptions and imaginary that students of Initial Teacher Training have of the teaching and learning of Social Sciences. Based on their own experience and memory and through a recalling exercise, we obtain information regarding different variables related to the teaching and learning of Social Sciences, such as assessments of the students regarding Social Sciences and its learning, teaching methodology and learning techniques, strategies developed, resources and teaching materials in the classroom, the functionality of this area of knowledge and improvement proposals raised by the students. This allows assessing previous knowledge of the students with respect to the teaching and learning of Social Sciences, and marking the starting point of their educational training.
