History and its teaching allows the construction of social imagineries that are actively involved in the collective memory and in visions of the future, the projection of obsessions and ghosts, and in the possibility of construction of collective hopes and dreams. However, facing the current predominance of a world process it is necessary renew the challenge of looking to other horizons to escape the instant of the present and forge expectations, projects and experiences for a future open to different possibilities of being. At present, it is a question of reflecting on this plus that is added to the simple task of teaching history. Then, the approach is to open the past, to work on the need to revise the vision we have of temporality and the ways in which societies articulate the past, present and future. It’s the possibility of teaching time as a “question”, working with the past in terms of the future and teaching history or histories in a temporal key.
