This article presents the description of the didactic method in history called ‘problem-situation’. It deals with how teachers may create learning situations for their pupils which approach a situation which is highly profitable for teaching. It explains the bases and several modalities of the activities which are part of this methodology. The analysis and conceptualisation of these activities elaborated by the teacher of history in his/her class, far from being superfluous elements, give more consistency to the practice of problem-situations.
