The Institución Libre de Enseñanza, in its eagerness to achieve a mans all-round education, doesnt overlook the physical or corporal education, so forgotten in its time on behalf of a greater attention to the intellectual education. In order to achieve that and restore the lost balance, a series of hygienic and pedagogical initiatives will be taken. Initiatives like summer camps, walks and school trips, as well as sport activities and corporal games, directed to improve the physical condition of the population. The success of European initiatives and experiences in that respect will be a model to set in motion the introduction of the ludic activity at the school. English sports are considered to be very important and of great pedagogical value. They are an example of physical, moral and character building education.
Institutionalists will devote their efforts to attract societys attention, as well as promote such activities. The promotion and introduction of ludic activities in the classroom will require a widespread change of the school, a school asleep and anchored in traditional practices and reluctant to believe in the educational virtues of these activities.
