El objetivo de este ensayo es revisitar el camino trazado por la poeta Delmira Agustini (1886-1914) en diálogo con la propuesta poética de Rubén Darío (1867-1916). De esta forma se podrá recalcar hasta qué punto los símbolos del modernismo fueron reinterpretados, incluso superados, por la uruguaya para emprender la ruta hacia una subversiva representación del deseo femenino a principios del siglo XX.
