Editorial Un nuevo ciclo para la revista de Derecho Animal: continuidad, excelencia y compromiso global

La editorial reafirma el compromiso de Derecho Animal, Forum of Animal Law Studies con la excelencia académica y su papel como referente internacional en la consolidación del derecho animal como disciplina autónoma. Se reconoce la labor fundacional de María Teresa Giménez-Candela y la continuidad garantizada por María José Rodríguez Puerta y Carolina Leiva, junto al apoyo institucional de la Facultad de Derecho de la UAB. El nuevo ciclo editorial se orienta a acompañar críticamente la transformación global del orden jurídico hacia la inclusión de principios como sintiencia, dignidad animal y justicia interespecie, promoviendo un diálogo interdisciplinario. Se destacan los retos actuales: la brecha entre reconocimiento normativo y aplicación efectiva, la interseccionalidad entre explotación animal, crisis climática y justicia social, y los dilemas éticos derivados de la tecnificación. El volumen aborda innovaciones desde el Sur Global y la omisión del sufrimiento animal en el Derecho Internacional Humanitario, subrayando la urgencia de marcos normativos más coherentes y compasivos.
