Abstract

Aromatic as well as heteroaromatic acids were found to be
excellent catalysts for the Biginelli three component synthesis
of dihydropyrimidinones. Benzoic acid, substituted benzoic acids, five- and six- membered heterocyclic acids can be used for this purpose.
