The re-awakening to the spiritual in the post-secular world

The disrepute of the Enlightenment and the exhaustion of the process of western secularization generate a series of expectations and uncertainties which make it difficult to see what the immediate and near future of western culture, globally considered, will be and what that future will be like. In this climate of transformation and change, the question of spirituality is not out of place, but rather, is extremely pertinent. Today, more than ever, the following questions make sense: Is there a re-awakening to the spiritual? What value and stature can be ascribed to the religious or quasi-religious fervour which pervades certain post-modern environments? What challenges do manifestations of this sort imply for the multi-secular Judea-Christian faith? This article seeks to deal with all of these questions, duly defined.
