Our work is an analysis of the tourist portal www.paradores.es and a proposal for its translation into Italian (so far absent) in comparison with the translations into English and French. To do this, we will use the pioneering seven translation processes listed by Vinay and Darbelnet (1958) as well as those listed in the reference bibliography. We will therefore address two parallel lines of research: on the one hand, the specialised terminology of tourist language (with special emphasis on the culture-bound terms of gastronomy), and on the other, narrative strategies.

Author Biographies

Armando Francesconi, Universidad de Macerata (Italia)

Armando Francesconi holds a PhD in "Translation Science and Spanish/Italian Contrastive Linguistics" and is a full professor of "Spanish Language" in the Department of Humanistic Studies at the University of Macerata. After his first studies, focused on Spanish-American literature, translation science and Spanish/Italian contrastive linguistics, he has extended his research to other areas, such as language contact and political discourse analysis.

Irene Arbusti, Universidad de Macerata (Departamento de Estudios Humanísticos)

Irene Arbusti received her PhD in Literary and Cultural Studies in 2019 from the University of Bologna with a thesis on Luisa Carnés. Her publications include a monograph (Miti, simboli e linguaggi del franchismo, Solfanelli 2020), articles and several translations, and she is currently a contract lecturer in Spanish language and translation at the Faculty of Linguistic Mediation Disciplines and at the Faculty of Political Science (University of Macerata).
