This article analyses the ethical dimension of romantic love. It argues that the retrieval of morality in the field of love requires us to deconstruct love as the sole ideal that steers our lives in the modern world and the only means by which we can find happiness. In this sense, the article also reflects on the relationship between love and friendship. Finally, it makes a series of suggestions that take formal learning as a fertile terrain for the educational process and one that can promote dialogue about relationships of this nature, based on ethical principles.
