Design Mechanisms in Contemporary Catalogues

Over the last two decades several factors have gradually changed the formalisation of visual catalogues (those dedicated to art, architecture, photography and design). The remediation effect of publishing through new audiovisual disciplines and the digital context has provided designers with new mechanisms that enable them to come up with graphic ansd structural solutions to pages, to narrative sequences and to the book itself as an object.
