Mobilitat residencial, solidaritat familiar i ciutadania a les regions metropolitanes

This note presents the findings of research conducted over the last three years
on disperse urban development in the Metropolitan Region of Barcelona. The article, after
addressing the scope of the study, its methodology and the field work, goes on to present
the results in three of the key aspects of the research: the social dynamics and stages
that have characterised the disperse urban development; the use of the territory and the
adaptive strategies of families; and family and social relationships in residential areas.
