Focus i abast

This open access Journal reports on the latest research into educational technology in higher education, broadly exploring new and innovative uses of educational models and technology. Among the themes addressed in the journal are: University models in the knowledge society; Educational models and technology use in higher education; open access systems for learning material use; Systems for development and use of open educational resources; Technological and pedagogical models and innovations; Transformations in higher education learning or administrative processes resulting from information and communication technology (ICT) use; Organizational and administrative perspectives of ICT use in higher education institutions; University governance and leadership in the knowledge society; and Models of university presence and service using the Internet. The journal is edited by the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya and the Universidad de los Andes (Colombia).

Journal History

The International Journal of Educational Technology in Higher Education (ETHE) is the new name ofRUSC. Universities and Knowledge Society Journal (Online ISSN 1698-580X). This is the start of a new era for the open-access online scientific journal founded in 2004 by the Open University of Catalonia (UOC). The journal has published 12 volumes containing more than 250 articles, 177 of which have appeared in both English and Spanish. Between 2013 and 2015 the journal was co-edited by UOC and the University of New England (UNE), Australia. From 2016 a new stage starts, with the Universidad de los Andes as co-editor of the journal with the UOC. As of Volume 13 onwards, the journal will be published by Springer, which will undoubtedly expand the reach and impact of the articles. It will continue to be an open-access online journal under the academic management of UOC, with assistance from an International Editorial Board comprised of experts in Educational Technology in Higher Education.
