This article is an introduction to the monographic section “From translation to jurilinguistics”. It outlines that the section’s contributions reflect a stable interdisciplinary framework for relations between language and law, taking into account parameters such as translation, interpreting, training, professional self-perception, theoretical research and the creation of terminology, whilst also reflecting some of the new trends in the field and offering a critical review of existing paradigms. It comes to the conclusion that the contributions published make clear the importance of jurilinguistics as a broad, dynamic paradigm which can provide the basis for discussion of the relations between language and the law.

Juan Jiménez-Salcedo és doctor en Lletres por la Universitat François Rabelais de Tours (França) i en Filologia Francesa por la Euskal Herriko Unibertsitatea (Universitat del País Basc). Ha estat investigador postdoctoral a la Universitat de Mont-real (Canadà) i investigador invitat a la Vrije Universiteit de Brussel·les (Bèlgica). Actualment es professor amb acreditació de Titular d'Universitat a la Universitat Pablo de Olavide, de Sevilla, així com professor invitat a la Universitat de Mons (Bèlgica) i a la Universitat Jaume I de Castelló. Entre els seus àmbits de recerca figuren les polítiques lingüístiques, tant en el context canadenc com en el catalanoparlant, la traducció i redacció jurídiques en català i francès i la interpretació en medi social.Most read articles by the same author(s)
