The elaboration of a teaching project is a legal requirement to access to university teaching bodies as it proves teaching skills of the professor. There is no clear normative definition about the teaching project, for that reason this article tackles its general concept in order to apply it later in the Tax Law context. Taking into account that the teaching project means the explanation of the teaching-learning process in regard of a specific discipline, the author considers that it is necessary that the teaching proposal is appropriately framed from a material and curricular perspective. Therefore, the teaching project in the field of Tax Law would include not only a theoretical review of the discipline –which is the basis for the teaching-learning process–, but also the new methodological requirements of the European Higher Education Area; and, furthermore, it should be in line with the curricular configuration of the University where lessons will be taught
