The use of legal clinics as an innovative teaching method within the degree in Law is a reality that has gained a strong presence in the Spanish university scenario, even though the practical application of the theoretical knowledge acquired throughout university education has a residual character in most educational curricula. The main objective of this paper is to explore both the benefits and the challenges that the use of this methodology has in the formation of the students, and specifically those that may be identified when using the human rights clinical model, like the strategic litiga-tion.
