The paper analyses the presence of Petrarch in medieval catalan lyric poetry, which can be found in remarkably early dates. Catalan poets seem to be interested in texts that closely fit the autochthonous tradition. The Chancellery and its related circle are suggested as the foremost spreading centres of RVF and the Triumphi, which do not take a long time to be understood as a complement of his philosophical and moral work.
