The jealous behavior in relationships is the expression of the fear of losing the partner in front of a rival. When this behavior occurs in the face of a false threat of infidelity, it generates emotional discomfort and causes maladaptive behaviors, and becomes pathological. Nowadays, jealousy and new conceptions of couples can be found mediated by technology, and this clinical case is an example of this. The case presented is about a patient with intrusive ego-dystonic thoughts and behaviors of a jealous nature that resemble an obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). The psychological intervention employed is a multicomponent cognitive-behavioral treatment that includes effective techniques for OCD along with sexual and communicative therapy. The results show a reduction of the problem behaviors and an improvement in the functionality and in the satisfaction of the couple.
