The philosophy of the Upanishads confirms the concern of the ancient Indian civilization for metaphysical knowledge. This communication will focus on the Kena Up, which deserves to be highlighted because of its specific issue, regarding the fundamental metaphysical question. It encourages the essential metaphysical quest: Who is being?. Beyond the limits that characterize both the philosophy and religion, the mythic and symbolic language of the teachings of the Upanishads provides fundamental answers which transforms the vision and the meaning of life. In this way, the upanisad allows the achievement of the goal set by philosophy Indian classical in terms of self-knowledge, wisdom and liberation. Thus is confirmed the effectiveness and practicality of the Indian tradition, its clear distinction of the levels of reality (psychic and spiritual) operating in the anthropological and cosmological dimension, as well as the reason of its potential comparison with the Platonic and Neoplatonic universe.
