A blog as a pretext for writing

A blog can be a resource to encourage pupils to be more responsible in their writing process. Following revision of course assessments in the Eramprunyà Centre for Language Normalisation (CNL) and in a move to make them more motivating, we initiated a study of their educational and regulatory purpose. As a consequence, we decided to conduct a more competence-based assessment. Project work has been introduced in the distance-learning module, as proposed by Joaquim Dolz. Text is the basic unit of work and the focal point of the different activities and tasks to be published in the blog. The initial capabilities of pupils are taken into account and a diversity of texts is produced. The role of the tutor in the process becomes more one of a guide and he or she carries out correction which is more qualitative than quantitative in nature, as described by Daniel Cassany.
