Results of a study on the need for continuing library and information science education in Spain. The data used in the study was gathered from a questionnaire distributed to a random sampling of 601 individuals, the sampling represents a population of 3,033 individuals, all members of library associations on the national level. The 31.3% response does not guarantee
conclusive results, but it does give a close indication of the real situation. The data was analyzed in three blocks: characteristics of the populationanalyzed and the centers where they work, evaluation of the initial educational level of those surveyed, and an evaluation of their continuing education studies.
