The object of study of the present investigation has been the cinematographic poster, concretely the design of the posters of the producer Universal Pictures. The content analysis methodology has been adapted to the graphic resources presented in these messages and to better understand to what extent it is communicative effectiveness. The investigation has allowed to conclude the relevance of the chromatic element and the type of plane to represent the genre of the film and a certain uniformity in the resources of hierarchy of the visual message in these designs.
