Faces of history. Teaching modern history through images in Spanish secondary school textbooks

This article analyses a selection of Spanish secondary school textbooks in order to ascertain whether or not they reflect recent contribu-tions from social history about exclusion and marginalization from a gender perspective. Quantitative and qualitative approaches and gender are used as analytical tools to study identity construction.
