Abstract
Can different modes of existence for a film be distinguished? Can a conversation produce a film? This is the starting point of the present article, dedicated to the study of the performative forms of cinema through the format of conference and conversation. Is a conversation a mode of existence for cinema? Is cinema a living art? When the statement replaces the work, who are the invisible mediators of the function? In the form of a play or a screenplay, the article reproduces the text of a performance developed in 2020, as part of the Festival des Cinémas Différents et Expérimentaux of Paris, during which six scattered spectators in the room reacted to the screening of silent films.
