[eng] The genus Cephalonomia Westwood 1833 is reported for the first time in the Balearic Islands. This genus comprises small wasp species that parasite coleoptera larvae and that hold a potential risk for human health. Stings from these wasps can produce severe allergic reactions to some people. A checklist with all Bethylidae species recorded until now in the Balearic Islands is provided.
