De la teodicea griega a la teodicea cristiana. Una breve aproximación comparativa.

RESUMEN: Este artículo se propone contrastar el humanismo griego con el humanismo cristiano. Se expondrá como clave comparativa la libertad y la culpabilidad del ser humano. Si en el mundo griego las cosas pasan inevitablemente, con lo cual el hombre no es libre; en contraposición, en el cristianismo, el hombre sí lo es, pues puede hacer el bien o el mal. Incluso, en la naturaleza, los antiguos griegos creían en la interdependencia de todas las cosas y en la existencia de una ley universal que las regía. Mientras en la cultura griega había un fatum, un destino inevitable para todos los seres, en el cristianismo existe la libertady el libre albedrío del hombre para decidir sus acciones. Comparamos aquí cómo el cristianismo puede ser paradójico a los ojos de la cultura clásica griega, y cómo ésta puede resultar sabiduría para el cristianismo, gracias a la universalidad de la revelación divina, que da lugar a la inculturación de la fe.

From Greek Theodicy to Christian Theodicy. A brief comparative approach.

ABSTRACT: This paper aims to contrast Greek humanism with Christian humanism. The freedom and guilt of the human being will be exposed as a comparative key. If in the Greek world things inevitably occur, whereby man was not free; in contrast, in Christianity, man is free, because he can do good or evil. Even in nature, the ancient Greeks believed in the interdependence of all things and in the existence of a universal law that governed them. While in Greek culture there was a fatum, an inevitable destiny for all beings, in Christianity there is the freedom and free will of man to decide his actions. Here we compare how Christianity can be paradoxical from the view of ancient Greek culture, and how it can be wisdom for Christianity, thanks to the universality of divine revelation, which leads to the inculturation of faith.
