ABSTRACT: It’s about giving new importance to human rights, in an era that is not interested in this question. Reviewing some of the problems that Europe has on the table, one has the idea that, today, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights has little to celebrate; and the states, first the Europeans and then the others have a lot to say and a lot to rectify.
