Estudio contrastivo del folleto médico (inglés-español)

Knowing the behaviour of a text genre in two different languages helps translators make the appropriate changes in the target text according to patterns in the target culture. With this work, we aim to show the results obtained in a contrastive analysis of medical leaflets in English and
in Spanish. Using two text corpora, we will try to establish the features that this text genre presents in both languages. After referring to the relevance of medical leaflets as well as the relationship between translation and contrastive analysis, we will describe our study, the two
corpora we will work with and the main aims we try to reach. Then, we will explain in detail the two stages of our model of analysis. Finally, we will show, contrast and comment on the results obtained in each of the categories that we analysed.
