Olga Orozco’s poetry or Job contemporary consciousness

This article proposes a reading of the poetry of an important contemporary Latin American author and, more specifically, an Argentine author: Olga Orozco. From a new perspective, which interweaves poetry and knowledge through the story of Job—that is, from the threshold of God and radical Evil, and the controversial dilemma of justice—a reading of Orozco’s poetry arises by considering its surreal roots, its utopian struggle with language or establishing that awareness of a fall which is in the marrow of her poetic works. Through various poems where a continuous balance and an impossible equilibrium are achieved, it demonstrates how Orozco’s poetry is so penetrated by its thirst for analogy, by the weight of existence, the passage of time or the awareness of death.
