Although De círculo y ceniza (1989), the collection of Piedad Bonnett's first poems, has been considered a heterogeneous book, written over almost a decade, and with a whimsical organization, this paper intends to study its different parts in an organic way to find a conductive thread or a plot that is not as scattered as previously assumed. With this objective, we apply a theoretical framework to address aesthetic issues such as the figuration of the flanêur of Bogota and the poet's erotic and loving universe in the light of thinkers like Octavio Paz or Georges Bataille.
