Leonardo Padura is one of the most well-known Cuban authors nowadays. His novels narrate what it was like to live in pre- and post-revolution Cuba. Therefore, he can be considered a writer-historian for his way of using history. However, one of the most interesting aspects of his style, and what sets him apart, is the way he uses the city to illustrate contemporary Cuban history and to narrate his stories. Havana with its neighborhoods, its streets, and its people delimit the Cuban history and its people’s stories.
